Blaine served as president, then CEO of Panera from 2016 to 2019. Through his time there, he launched the Panera 2.0 initiative, an enhanced guest experience enabled by technology and rooted in operational integrity. He also launched Panera’s Delivery initiative in 2014.

Blaine is a data- and technology-driven leader, heading up many information systems and innovation initiatives throughout his career — including his time as president of Papa John's, and as he founded Ernst & Young's Center for Information Technology Planning and Development.
